HONO-Manufacturing and suppliers-

At Hono we tell you the story, in complete transparency.

We create and manufacture products that we wear.

Durable, quality, environmentally friendly products at a reasonable price.

In order to avoid any waste, we manufacture on a just-in-time basis, i.e. upon receipt of your orders.

Our suppliers

We work with French, Portuguese and Belgian suppliers.

We chose our suppliers based on two main criteria.

1-Their ecological commitments

Our charter in terms of ecological commitment is uncompromising and must meet recognized labels in this area (Peta approved vegan, GOTS certified organic cotton and GRS certified recycled cotton, recycled polyester and recycled nylon)

2-Their social commitments

Our suppliers must also meet social commitment criteria with regard to the players both in the production of raw materials and in the first stages of manufacturing in their country, such as our Belgian supplier whose manufacturing plant is located in Bangladesh.

Made in France

In France, it is possible to affix the "Made in France" label from the moment the product has undergone its last transformation in France.

Our embroidery and printing, the final stages of the creation of our products, are carried out in workshops located in France, thus promoting the maintenance and creation of jobs in our region.

This last step would allow us to be labeled “Made in France”

Why don't we do it?

Because at Hono we want our customers to buy with complete transparency.

100% Made in France generally requires higher labor costs for the same technical skills, and therefore a more expensive final price.

This would involve increasing our prices and reserving our products for customers with high purchasing power.

We have chosen to favor manufacturers with very high quality charters at an affordable price.

Of course, as soon as we find a 100% French product, meeting all our criteria and know-how, we favor it.

Why not choose only European manufacturers who have their production workshops only in Europe?

We thought about it too.

Regarding the raw material and the carbon impact

The raw material is not produced in Europe anyway. It has to be imported.

Regarding the making

We had two choices: either choose only European clothing factories (but which did not necessarily have all the labels) or agree to work with labeled factories located in the organic cotton growing area.

We chose the second option, working with manufacturers who meet the following labels:

GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard)

Label that certifies not only decent working conditions but also respect for the environment and certifies a product that does not harm the health of those who wear it.

FAIR WEAR

The Fair Wear Foundation is a multi-stakeholder organization that works to monitor and improve working conditions in the textile industry. This independent foundation works in collaboration with member companies to improve and ensure decent working conditions. This collaboration is embodied in the Fair Wear Foundation Labor Code, based on 8 standard practices supported and inspired by the conventions of the ILO (International Labor Organization) and the International Declaration of Human Rights.

PETA

PETA certification approves that certified products do not contain any animal material.

Oeko-Tex

Quality label comprising several technical standards, aimed at certifying the health and ecological qualities of textiles by guaranteeing the absence of products toxic to the body and the environment.
